a biblical conspiracy

There are those who see a conpiracy behind every bush. These are those who have a basic distrust of the government. They are widely regarded as "nut cases". Then there are those who implicitly trust the government. They believe that the government has our best interest at heart. They say to themselves, "We are their children and they wouldn't do anything to hurt us." This attitude is part of the deception mentioned above.

Actually the Bible does reveal that there is a conspiracy active in the earth. There is One Grand Conspiracy which acts as an umbrella for all smaller conspiracies. What Grand Conspiracy is this you ask? It is the conspiracy to overthrow the rule of God over this earth. What do I mean and where do I get this from?

Psalm 2 states . . .
2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2:2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
2:3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

These opening verses detail what the Grand Conspiracy is, who is involved and what is its goal.

This grand conspiracy is against the LORD and His Anointed, or His Messiah.

The conspirators are the kings of the earth and the rulers.

Their goal is to break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

The kings of the earth and the rulers set themselves and take council together. To "set themselves" means to stand against, or set as a foundation. To "take council together" means to sit together in coucil or to conspire together. Hence, the kings of the earth and the rulers have established as a foundation of their rule a conspiracy.

A conspiracy to do what? To break their bands asunder and cast away their cords from us.

What does this mean? Quite simply, it means to remove the claims and restrictions of God's claim to men on this earth. It means that men no longer want to have or to need to acknowledge God in their life and in their world. They want to eradicate God from their life.

In Romans, chapter 1, Paul says it like this, ...
21* Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

It is interesting that in Psalm 2, it says, "the people imagine a vain thing". Here Paul says that when they knew God, or had a knowledge of God, they did not glorify Him as God and were not thankful.

Not recognizing God as God and giving Him Glory and not being thankful to Him as certain effects. Those effects are that we become vain in our imaginations and our foolish hearts are darkened.

To put it simply, when we fail to honor God for who He is, and are not thankful to Him for His abundant supply in this world, our thinking processes become vain, or empty and fruitless. Our rebellious hearts become darkened, or void of light.

the conspiracy in a nutshell

To put it as succintly as possible, this conspiracy is to remove the claims and acknowledgement of God and His Messiah, who is Jesus His Son, from the lives of men on this earth.

This conspiracy is spear-headed by the kings of the earth and the rulers ( or men of community leadership ) and master-minded by the great deceiver himself, Satan, the Adversary of God. This translates in today's society to that circle of men of power and influence who make up the clubs, associations and organizations that seek to bring about a New World Order in which the One True God is not honored or recognized. A New Order in which man has become his own god.

This is the goal of this conspiracy. To remove God from His rightful place in the lives of men and replace Him with a substitute. To allow Man to become his own god and his own standard of truth.

God says, "Fine, you do not want me in your knowledge? You want to replace me with something else to worship? That is fine. I will give you over to yourselves."

But this action has certain consequences. Those consequences are . . .

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27* And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28* And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31* Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32* Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

This is the world we live in today. A world in which evil is called good and good is called evil.

Can it be changed? Probably not. But change can be made one person at a time. That is how change occurs - one person at a time.

Where do we start this change? Where all true change starts . . . with acknowledging God for who He is and giving Him the glory due to Him.

The simplest place for this change to start is with people becoming acquianted with God through His Word, The Bible.

But people do not like to read the Bible. And why not?
