Would You Recognize The Christ When He Comes (con't)

If your basis for truth is sensual experience, then you are primed for deception. By "sensual", I mean that which relates to the senses - that which you can feel, see or hear. Your senses become the basis for perceived truth. Many Church-goers likely fall into this category. I don't believe that a true Christian can be ultimately decieved. They might be led astray for a time, but Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice and another's voice they will not follow."

There are segments of the Church that follow after signs and wonders. They hold these to be the basis of truth and proof of God's working in their midst. But "it is an evil and adulterous generation that seeks a sign."

The Only Basis For Truth Is Found In God's Word, The Bible.

So will you recognize the Christ when He comes? Allow me to share some indesputable facts of
How To Recognize The Christ When He Comes

Acts, Chapter One says this . . .

9* And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11* Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

This is the account of the ascension of Jesus into heaven. You will want to pay careful attention to what the angels (the men in white apparel) told the disciples.

They said that "this same Jesus", which was taken up in their sight, will come again in the same way in which he went.

How Will You Recognize The Messiah When He Comes?

1. When the Messiah comes, it will be the Same Jesus that walked this earth nearly 2,000 years ago. THIS SAME JESUS - not someone like him, or a reincarnation of him, or someone who comes in his name. THIS SAME JESUS!!

2. This Same Jesus will come again in the same manner as he left. How did he leave? He ascended into heaven in the sight of his disciples. This Same Jesus Will Descended From Heaven To Earth. The Apostle Paul tells us this very thing also . . .

1Th 4:16* For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Notice He says that "The Lord Himself" shall descend from heaven. The Messiah Jesus will come for his people Himself. He would sent someone after us, or send someone like him or some other "ascended master". No this Same Jesus will Descend From Heaven With A Great SHOUT!! HE IS GOING TO MAKE SOME NOISE WHEN HE COMES!

3. He ascended in the sight of his followers. They watched Him ascend into the heavens. When Jesus comes again, He will descend from heaven and "every eye shall see him."

Re 1:7* Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

So to answer the question, "How will you recognize the Messiah when he comes?", we simple have to turn to the Word of God, for the Truth of God, about the Messiah of God.

1. When the Messiah comes, it will be the Same Jesus that was born, lived, was crucified and was raised from the Dead

2. This Same Jesus, will Descend From Heaven in the sight of those on earth.

So, if someone should say to you, "Look, there is the Christ". Believe it not.

Matt. 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

Also . . .

Matt. 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
Matt. 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

And a final word of warning and encouragement . . .

I Thess.1:7* And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8* In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;
10* When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.
